Product of the Week: MAC Lipstick in Brave

This is something I haven't tried before. In a way it's a regular review, but in a way it's more than that. This will be a series where I show you the product I have been using most that week.

I probably won't do one of these each week but they will come quite regularly.

This week, a product has certainly stood out to me as my "most used". It is a very new product and a very exciting product (to me at least).

It is a MAC lippie in "Brave". This colour is quite comparable to my Soap and Glory lipstick, Flushed, which of course is my No.1 lipstick.

It is a browny-nudey-pink colour. Irrisistable! I went into MAC with the intension of buying a similar shade, Faux.

Sadly they were out of stock, but the lovely lady working there recommended Brave. It is a bit pinker than Faux.

My little brother's reaction when he saw it was quite funny. He said something along the lines of "It costs so much but it makes no difference". It is actually a really stunning colour.

It, in my opinion, is a very practical buy in that it is a wearable colour that you could wear any day.  It also complements any eye shadow look, be it smoky or neutral.

This lipstick, like most MAC lipsticks,  is quite long lasting and I personally LOVE it.

These lipsticks cost €19.50 .

I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you are near a MAC counter/store anytime, I advise that you give Brave  a swatch to see if it's for you!

Bye for now!

Book List 2015

Hi there!

I have decided that I want to incorporate my love of reading into this blog. Expect to see book haul, reviews and more in the near future.

If you do not wish to read about my book addiction, have no fear as I do not intend to solely devote this blog to books.

I have set myself a goal to read 70 books this year. I am quite proud that, already, I have read 8 books.

There are quite a few books that I want to read in 2015 so without further ado here is my list of the ones I am most looking forward to.

The One (The Selection Series)
Hush Hush
Vampire Academy
Anna and the French Kiss
We Were Liars
The Broken Stars
Gone (series)
The Mortal Instruments (series)
The Infernal Devices (series)
Legend, Prodigy & Champion
The Murder Complex
Eleanor & Park
Four Short Stories
The Fifth Wave
Apple and Rain
The Book Thief
The Maze Runner
Paper Towns
Looking for Alaska
An Abundance of Katherines
Heart Shaped
Take Back the Skies
One Wish
I am Malala

Obviously, this isn't 70 books but these are the ones that I want to read first.

I hope you got some ideas from this post. I had a lot of fun compiling this list.

Until next time!

Stay Moisturised in Winter!

I have very dry skin during the winter, particularly my lips. I know I'm not the only one with this problem.

Because of that, today I will show you my favourite products to keep my skin soft and supple (?).

A new discovery of mine is the Body Shop Body Butter. Holy guacamole! This stuff is the bees knees! I get dry legs but lately I have not had to worry about that (mainly because they are protected with leggings or wooly tights).

They cost around €18 but it is well worth the money. I have the limited edition one (which btw costs €10!!!) in Papaya. It smells unbelievably delicious and I advise you pick it up while you can.

My facial moisturiser rarely changes. I prefer to stick to my trusty, old Simple Kind to Skin+ Protecting Moisture Cream. I've used this for over a year and haven't found anything I like more. Each time I go for a change I end up going back. This is a thicker substance than most moisturisers I've tried in the past. It is perfect for my combination skin.

Now, this I am excited to tell you about. I get VERY chipped lips and it's hard to find things that really work at moisturising your lips. This is my absolute Holy Grail product. Anyone who knows me well (Maeve), knows how much I ADORE Carmex lip balms. My wonderful aunt introduced me to these in March and since then I've been in love.

I'm currently trying to convert my mother. This stuff puts Vaseline to shame! Some people don't like how it makes your lips tingle but that's just it doing it's job!!! These cost a couple of Euro and quite frankly, you. need. it.

That's all for today!
Please let me know your favourite moisturisers.

Sleek Blush | Review

I hope you had a fantastic holidays. I definitely did! Sadly though, school has started again.

You might know that blushes are my weak point. I can't resist buying them!

Sleek is not a brand I am familiar with. I've tried their eyeshadow palettes but not much else.

I've been eyeing up the blush range for quite some time now and I finally decided to indulge.

It wasn't a major purchase, however, as they cost about €5.99 each.

I bought the colours Flushed and Life's a Peach. I had intended to buy a different blush but didn't think to look at the label. That's why I'm stuck with Life's a Peach, which I don't think will suit my complexion.

Flushed, on the other hand, is my perfect blush. It has been my most used blush for the last 2 weeks.

It is a dark, pink-wine colour which, as you may know, is my favourite blush colour.

This blush adds a gorgeous, natural flush of colour that I can't get enough of.

The one downside is that these are not as pigmented as I had hoped.

Otherwise, I love these blushes and can't wait to get my hands on some more Sleek products.

Thanks for stopping by!

Barry M Hi-Shine Nail Paint

Hello there!!!

Sadly, I hardly ever have an excuse to wear nail varnish. It is not aloud in my school so I rarely put it on.

This Christmas, I decided that it is time for a change. I went out and bought 3 of the most raved about drugstore nail polishes.

I bought Barry M's Gelly Hi- Shine Nail Paint in Chai, the Matte Nail Paint in Espresso and when you spend €9 on Barry M products you get the Limited Edition Nail Paint in Moonlight.

Chai is a really gorgeous gray, and is the one I can't take my eyes off. Espresso is a plain matte black and Moonlight is a sparkly, glittery polish with big pieces of silver and red stars.

I was immediately drawn to Chai. It is without a doubt my new favourite nail varnish. It is longlasting (the first chip appeared after about 3 days).

Feeling adventurous, I applied a layer of Esspresso to create a thin band at the tip of the nail.
I love love love this combination! It is very chic looking and is my go to nail at the moment.

For Christmas itself I wore Esspresso all over my nail with a thin layer of Moonlight on top. It, in my opinion, looks like the stars at night.

Very pretty.

Sadly this didn't last very long. As I had expected, Moonlight started to peel after a few days.

As I told you, Chai is the new love of my life so when I saw the shade, Mustard, I had to welcome her to the collection.

I haven't tried it on yet but I have high hopes!
If you've tried these nail polishes before and have any recommendations please let me know!
